Indonesia investment house Kresna Graha Investama and retail operator Supra Boga Lestari, through their respective subsidiaries, have agreed to set up an e-commerce venture, Supra Kreatif Mandiri (SKM).
The e-commerce platform will be launched in the third quarter this year.
SKM will develop KeSupermarket.com, an online shopping platform for daily needs including grocery, fresh products and general merchandise.
Going forward, the portal will also sell non-supermarket products such as electronics and gadgets.
”We see that e-commerce markets in Indonesia, especially those for daily grocery, continue to grow rapidly. This is underpinned by the increase in internet and smart phone users as well as evolution in consumer behavior in the country,” Meshvara Kanjaya, CEO of Supra Boga Lestari said.
In a recent report by secondary market research firm yStats.com, titled “Southeast Asia B2C E-Commerce Market 2015“, Indonesia is predicted to account for more than a third of overall B2C E-Commerce sales in the next three years within Southeast Asia.
Kresna, an integrated digital technology company, offers variety of relevant products that can be synergized with our e-commerce application, such as: e-wallets, loyalty, social geo marketing programs and e-travel products and other relevant platforms, she noted.
“We believe that this new online shopping platform will complete our puzzle as a diversified yet integrated digital lifestyle service company,” Jahja Suryandy, Managing Director of Kresna said.
Supra Boga Lestari is a retailer of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and specialty products in supermarket format. It owns and operates Ranch Market, a chain of retail stores selling local and imported products, and Farmers Market, engaged in selling local and imported products.
Headquartered in Jakarta, the Company has Ranch market supermarkets in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Balikpapan.
